Extinction Mechanism Of Extinction Agent

- Jul 11, 2017 -

Varnish coating without extinction agent is in the mirror film leveling state, when the light reaches the surface of the mirror, the incident light is absorbed, partly reflected, the reflective part makes the film appear luster. The white carbon black particles, which contain white carbon black matting agent, form a micro-rough surface evenly in the paint film.

Scanning electron microscope photos from the film section can clearly see the extinction agent particles evenly distributed in the film, when the incident light reaches the uneven surface of the film, the diffuse reflection, that is, the occurrence of scattering produced low gloss matt and extinction appearance. The best extinction effect can be obtained by using high porosity, optimum particle size distribution and white carbon black matting agent suitable for surface treatment.
